Hiking - Songshan#

A couple of days ago, I went to Dengfeng to hike Songshan, and my overall impression of Dengfeng after two days was quite good.

Cultural Atmosphere#

Previously, I saw in a travel guide that the fried knife-cut noodles in Dengfeng were quite good. I specifically went to try them; the address is a small shop next to the Dengfeng Bus Station. I personally thought the taste was good, the portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable.

The people of Dengfeng are also very warm. When looking for a homestay, the owners I encountered were very enthusiastic and patiently answered my accommodation needs.

Dengfeng has a relaxed pace of development, with public transportation mainly consisting of buses, and the intervals between bus services are mostly over 30 minutes, with many taxis available.

Hiking#

This time I hiked Taishi Mountain in Songshan; last year I went to Shaoshi Mountain.

The route I chose to ascend Taishi Mountain was Songyang Academy to Junji Peak. This time, unlike the "special vertical soldier" method used when climbing Taishan, I walked and stopped, with a total distance of 6.2 kilometers, taking 3 hours. There were many supply points along the way, and the winter scenery was average. The descent route was from Junji Peak to Luya Waterfall, which is the longest and most perilous of the three routes on Taishi Mountain. Along the way, I occasionally encountered a few small cats, and the steps in the sky were very steep, with two suspension bridges. At the foot of this route, there is a ski resort, and it was quite crowded. The total distance was 9.7 kilometers, taking 2 and a half hours.

After hiking, it is necessary to stretch the muscles promptly to recover; otherwise, there will be soreness in the leg muscles. This time, I did not stretch in time, which resulted in soreness in the outer thigh muscles and inner calf muscles the day after the hike.

Doing muscle stretches, soaking my feet, and taking a hot shower on the night after hiking were very helpful in alleviating muscle soreness and recovery.
